Can I replace the flags of the languages I translate the website with, with text (French, English, German etc…)?

What are you trying to achieve:
My client does not want the flags of the different languages to appear on the menu, but the name written in letters, of the languages instead.
What have you already tried:
Nothing, as I would like to know if it is possible before activating the multi-llingual app
