We have a website built with Wix and we are wondering if it is possible to include a searchable database available to our site visitors.
The information stored in the database will be information about community services available in our area. We would need to have common fields (name, contact details, location, etc), but also searchable tags (youth, children, seniors, counselling, clubs, outdoors, training, medical, etc).
I see there are a few forum questions with a similar question, but nothing that fits what we are after exactly.
Is this possible?
Yes, Wix offers a vast CMS, it just may take a bit of learning how to use
As @DeanAyalon mentioned, there’s a lot that can be done with the CMS, although it depends exactly on your needs.
Here’s some articles that should point you in the right direction. For example:
- It’s currently not possible to filter live site content with the Text Input element - we do have a feature request for this here.
- But it is possible to allow users to filter content using other input elements as outlined here.
- There’s also a lot of tutorials out there on this topic if heading in the direction of code is an option for you. (Such as this).
Good luck! Let us know if you have any questions
