Now more than ever, because of COVID, my clients need the ability for customers to be able to choose their desired pick-up day/time when ordering from the store (and to have it only offer times that the store is designated as open). Ecwid offers this functionality, but we would really prefer to use the Wix store interface.
I agree also to #featurerequest have pickup only on specified products please Megan a workaround is to set up a variant on products one of my clients that is providing limited food pickups has done this…
This feature request is not for ability to have pick-up only on certain products, but rather for the customer to select their desired pick-up day and time like Ecwid allows.
So when they checkout, they see a calendar or list of pick-up days available and they pick which one they want and select their pick-up time. But it will only offer them days/times that fall within the stores designated curbside pick-up hours.
It just doesn’t really work for us. It’s not the same. We are a local market, selling perishable goods—we need to be certain folks are going to show on a specific day. With our current online store (Square), they can pick their date. This means they pick a day when they are actually available to come get their stuff, so we’re able to time our own internal ordering of the products to arrive in-store close to their pick-up date.
It’s also really important for customers to know exactly when their product will be ready so that they can plan for it, rather than waiting for an email from us saying it’s ready. We considered just putting in huge letters all over the site that orders will be ready for pick-up on the X pick-up day after you order (like you place your order on Tuesday, it will be ready Thursday) but that just gets complicated, and then we can’t get a clear picture of how many people we have for pick-up each pick-up day…which is important for our staffing decisions.
All that is to say, we really need the ability for customers to choose their own date and time.
