Shutterstock Video Size Issues

I purchased a Shutterstock video to use as a section behind my transparent header. When I add the video in the editing screen of Wix Studio it shows up completely normal and reaches all the edges, however when I preview or publish it, it shrinks the video and there’s black on either side of it (on top and bottom of the mobile view). How can I get it to stay stretched to all sides? The size mode is set to scale proportionally already and the video is set to stretch to fill the section. I’m very new to this so the simpler the fix the better.

I think there are a few things happening here.

The video itself (not the element) will have a fixed ratio, meaning the video won’t change proportions.

The element is set to scale proportionally, which means it will scale according to the size of the screen, keeping all its proportions.

It seems the video element is stretched to the size of the section, which naturally will have a different ratio according to the size of the screen, which is where I’m guessing the black bars come in.

Because the video is the size of the section, it’s not keeping the ratio set, and hence the video itself is a fixed ratio is making itself fit within the bounds of the stretched element.

If it’ being used as a background, I’d recommend using the “Video Box” element rather than the “Single Video Player”

Hope that helps
