My new Editor X website was set up with a new domain bought through an Editor X Premium account setup
It was displaying as secure in the ‘site information’ area but it is no longer doing so.
The only thing I have done is have my old domain (Hosted with Homestead) set up to simply redirect traffic to my new one. This was done by Homestead themselves after I asked the question in the help forum.
It should now be set up to basically act as a subdomain. I’m keeping it hosted over there as I’m not leaving the platform because I have a few other hobby websites and some important Email addresses associated with my old domain. Could this be what is affecting my site security?
I’m new to Wix/Editor X so a little green, I have had a quick look around the help section but could see anything regarding having an old domain pointing to my website over here and the potential; effect on my SSL certificate… I wouldn’t of thought it would not effect my new domain which was purchased through Wix/Editor X
Thanks in advance
Hey! I’m Jonathan from the Editor X team.
The SSL may take up to a few days to appear after doing any domain related changes. If this doesn’t resolve in the next couple of days please contact support.
Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes I had wondered If I had perhaps jumped the gun a little rather than waiting to see if it settled down after a few days. My old Domain was only switched over to point to my new Wix/Editor X Domain yesterday afternoon.
I checked last night and noticed the redirect on desktop was functioning but not on a mobile browser so perhaps it hasn’t fully propagated yet.
I’ll keep an eye on things and see how I go.
Thanks again

Hey Jonathan,
It’s been a few days and no change regarding the secure connection in the site information panel.
Now over the weekend I ran my domain through a few SSL checkers online and no problems are flagged up and they report back stating that the certificate is present for my domain.
Yet still whatever browser I view my site in, weather it be desktop browsers or mobile browsers it still states unsecure in the site information.
I’m confused as what to do next, I’m new to Editor X so I’m unaware of any settings I can check over within my account that may be the culprit.
Any Help/info with my situation would be appreciated
Cheers
Kirk

@info85618 Hi, we checked and it appears to be resolved. Keep in mind that when you transfer a domain, it can take a few days for the process to complete.
In the future, if you have issues with the domain, then please contact our support team for quick help
@sebi-vidret Hi Sebi, Yes it seemed to resolve itself late last night (UK Time). Thanks for your help.
I was just confused as I didn’t realize that just by pointing my old domain hosted elsewhere would disrupt anything on this side.
It’s all looking good now thought I think.
Thanks again.
Hey Kirk
Is this issue still happening?
