Sub-category in WixStudio

Hi WixStudio team, I have a problem and I’d like to let you know and see if you can help me solve it. I’m currently working on an e-commerce site, but I’d like to manage product categories and sub-categories. Not being managed natively by WixStore, and being on WixStudio, I had to create a product option called “sub-category” and in it, each time I add an item, I specify the sub-category. (I opted for this approach because it allowed me to easily filter by sub-category). Now for some items, I have other options, for example “Size”, “Color”. These product options are only for the filter I’ve set for sub-categories. But it turns out that to add a product to the shopping cart, I have to set a sub-category, which I don’t do. Is there a way to ignore or autocomplete the sub-category and hide even that and leave only the color and size options?
