Hi, trying to get a better and more complete understanding of templates on Wix Studio. We are new to Wix/Wix Studio and will be developing a client’s new site using Wix Studio. Their current site is on the basic Wix (original?!?). Our background is with other platforms, primarily WordPress. So just have a few questions, as choosing a template appears to be the first step in creating a new site, and can’t be changed once started, correct??
QUESTIONS:
-
If ALL options for starting a Wix Studio site are one of the templates listed here (All Responsive Templates | Wix Studio), it appears we have almost 60 ‘fully designed’ templates, a handful of ‘wireframe’ templates, and one ‘blank’ template to choose from, correct?
-
With Wix Studio, does starting with one of the more fully designed templates offer you any more functionality or features (i.e., not design, layout, or styling) than starting with the Blank template, or even one of the wireframes?
-
Does a fully designed template potentially offer any formatting or markup that would be impossible to replicate on the blank template (e.g., certain specific layouts, etc.)?
-
Does starting with a more fully designed template load the site up with a bunch of content (media, text, etc.) that you may eventually need to strip out since it won’t necessarily be relevant for your specific client and/or needs?
-
How would one of the wireframe templates differ from the Blank template?
Thanks for any additional insight here. With WordPress, the ‘theme’ controls the design & styling primarily and can be changed at any point. But have a bit of experience with SquareSpace where the initial template chosen can limit some of the layouts, features, and functionality that the site can achieve. Just don’t want to spend a lot of time going down a road that would be limiting or a waste of time/resources.
