Turn off automatic confirmation-email sent by wix

I can’t find the option within my SITE-DASHBOARD, where i can turn off the email-confirmation after a user was registered, confirmed by email and applied as member.

I am using my own E-Mail-Confirmation-Flow, i do not need the automatic generated mail.

After this process i get still an automatic CONFIRMATION-MESSAGE i do not want to see at all.

How to turn that off? Why Wix always tries to force to implement something into a flow what was not programmed or wished?

I think i am reffering to this old post… which was already bespoken years ago!

Did something already change regarding this issue?

If so, please let me know.

You cannot prevent email from being sent. You can toggle off “ask new members ro confirm email address” and ……

You can custom code a registration to mark them as Pending……

Then trigger your own confirmation process and mark them as Approved or confirmed, etc.

BUT Wix will still send that “confirm your email address” email if the person was a Contact of your website first before becoming a Member.

‘Tis not a bug. They intentionally built it that way because they said that is what is expected. :woman_shrugging:t2:

Very ODD !!!

They do not give customers their SPACE to develop their own stuff!
This is somekind of forcing the customer.

At least there should be an OPTION to turn it off, for those who do not need that stuff.

This is just breaking my CUSTOM-REGISTRATION-PROCESS-FLOW.

You can custom code a registration to mark them as Pending……

Yes, this is exactly what i am doing.

  1. Registering (email, pw, triggered-ID, options) --------------------------------------> ok.
  2. User → pending (because set to manual approvement) -----------------------> ok.
  3. Sending an automatik e-mail by usage of a setted-up triggered-email ----> ok .
    (you remember)
    Adding a viriable to the LINK inside the triggered e-mail possible?
  4. User confirms the link, pressing the CONFIRM-BUTTON inside e-mail -----> ok.
  5. User should now directly beeing redirected to HOMEPAGE --------------------> ok.

BUT WHAT IS NOT OK —> GETTING A FURTHER E-MAIL <— —> I DO NOT WANT <—, INCLUDING AGAIN A CONFIRMATION BUTTON <-----> I WAS NOT ASKING FOR THAT STEP!!!

Maybe in future, there will be a button to DEACTIVATE such an unwanted behaviour.

Yup. At first I started losing big clients because of this and other things that you cannot customize (due to having strict legal branding guidelines that my clients need to follow in order to be compliant with their company board, laws, rules, etc).

But then i thought …. nope. If Wix wants to lose a client, that’s on them for making those development decisions.

But I will not be losing another big client. So i started expanding my skills and began building on other platforms also. Now my clients still choose me …… because they have more options to get the solutions they need …. without settling.
