Unable to change height of multistate box in wix studio editor.
Why can’t I change height value?
I can neither decrease or increase height.
When focus is on the multistate box the inspector panel shows “H” grayed out.
When focus is on individual states I am able to change “H” value, but when I hit enter it reverts to previous value.
I am able to use the drag handles to change height, but as soon as I release the mouse it reverts to previous height.
I don’t think it’s a parent container issue.
It is contained in a section that is 520 px in height.
The current height is 246 px.
I would like to have my first state at around 100 px.
There are no “cells” in the section.
I did close my Chrome browser & logged out. Then tried again, same result.
I also toggled “show overflow” on the states.
I did not try custom CSS.
I am new to wix studio editor and not sure how I would apply CSS to individual states.
What am I missing here?
Hi, user3422 !!
Hello! I just tried it myself, and as you mentioned, it seems that the height of the multi-state box is “automatically controlled” and grayed out, making it impossible to adjust. But don’t worry! First, add a “container element” to the page. Then, enlarge the container element to be big enough to fully contain the multi-state box. Next, place the multi-state box inside the container element. Select the multi-state box, and you’ll see a “stretch button” at the top right corner of the multi-state box. Press that button, and the multi-state box should fit perfectly within the container. After that, simply select the outer container and freely adjust its size. Since you can modify the height of the container, the height of the multi-state box should also adjust automatically to fit the container size!
Enjoy !!
Thank you for providing a solution once again for me.
how does one but the put the multi state box inside the container, sorry im a noob at wix. I selected to move to back and wasn’t able to make it smaller. My product gallery is currently 320x3468 in mobile view and it will only let me make it bigger. I have added container box
Hello, and welcome to the world of Wix! It’s been quite a while, so my memory might not be entirely accurate, and I don’t fully understand your current situation, but please try following the steps I wrote in my previous post. The breakpoint you should work on is “Desktop.” In Wix Studio, any work done in the “Desktop” breakpoint will be reflected in other breakpoints, such as “Mobile.” However, if you’re working with the standard Wix Editor instead of Wix Studio Editor, the above steps might not work. It’s possible that the standard Wix Editor doesn’t allow adding a Multi-State Box inside a container.
P.S.
Are you unsure how to place elements inside a container? In most cases, you can simply drag the element you want to place inside the container and overlap it. If it doesn’t seem to work, the stacking order might be affecting it. Try right-clicking the element you want to add, selecting “Arrange,” and moving it to the “Bring to Front” option before dragging it over the container. Additionally, if you need to resize the element, you may be able to adjust its size by inputting specific values for the dimensions.
