Unique Names for Menu Links

When working with the menus, vertical and horizontal, I am unable to assign different unique names to menu items as stated here:

When I rename a menu item, it changes on every menu. It changes the page name too. I assume this is a bug, because this is a rather large issue for usability.

Is there something I am doing wrong? Am I not supposed to use “Page Links?”

I’m experiencing the same issue and I think it might be a bug. I’ve been working on a website for a while now, and in the menu I’ve set up a dropdown element linking to a Store page. In the submenu, the first link is also set to the same page but with a different label – since many users don’t realize the dropdown label itself is clickable (as it often isn’t on other websites).

I wanted to rename the dropdown element from Products to Shop to make it clearer that this is where the online store is. The submenu item was already labeled All Products. But when I tried to rename the dropdown element to Shop (or Butikk in my case), the submenu item All Products also changed to Butikk. It also renamed the page title and affected all menu items linking to that page.

See screenshots for reference.
Did you manage to find a solution to this?
Do I need to link it as a URL instead of a Site Page? Would that affect loading speed?

Hope someone can clarify or provide a workaround!

Here’s a screenshot of how the menu was originally set up – with Produkter as the dropdown title and Alle produkter as the first submenu item. Both link to the same page, but with different labels, which is exactly what I want.

In my first post, I attached a screenshot showing what happens when I try to rename Produkter to Butikk. It automatically renames Alle produkter to Butikk too, even though I just want to change the label of the dropdown, not the submenu item.

So I’m wondering – is there a way to unlink the labels when two menu items point to the same page?
Would really appreciate any ideas or workarounds!
