I have this issue
I’ve been working on this website for a little while, updating and publishing as I go. But when I viewed the live site, an unknown section appears over the header. I’ve been going through every layer and page for this issue, including freezing the header on top, and nothing has popped up. Could someone tell me exactly what went wrong and how to resolve this? Pictures below:
The red box is the section I wished to remove.
I suspect this is some sort of Custom Code that has been added to the site.
Have you added anything like an iFrame or code to the Custom Code found in the site dashboard?
nothing much like that, no. The only time I use the custom code is for the hidden, collapsed commands on certain body sections, but never on top of the header.
Worth checking the custom code in the site dashboard.
Dashboard> Settings> Custom Code in the Development & integrations section
Review any code there and double check that it’s what you expect
Update on your tip response: There isn’t a single iframe code snippet that seems to appear in both dev mode and the Wix GitHub code. Other options, such as clearing the cache, deleting elements and pages that led to the external link, including mobile, don’t seem to resolve the mystery iframe above the header.
At this point, this is a roadblock for me, and there’s no clear explanation for why the website acted this way.
Did you check the custom code in your site dashboard? Dashboard> Settings> Custom Code (and then disable anything added and enable one by one to see which might be the one that causes it)
Its often the most probable cause for things being loaded above the site header.
