User-facing Blog Composer Interface

Hey there

How can we empower members to compose blog posts via our sites rather than having them login to our dashboards via wix.com? I understand we must set member permissions, but my question is more that I don’t want to have blog writers/contributers to have to log-in to website and have access to website internals.

To clarify, the website I’m currently working on was authored with Wix-Studio.

I’ve tried googling, and searching on this forum but thus far no luck.

Thanks in advance! Kind regards,

Jeff

If you want any member to compose a blog post then you will need to build this using custom forms and dynamic pages. Otherwise the only other way is to log into the dashboard, but they are restricted to only write blogs, so dont have any access to the website internals.

Hey @Dan_Suhr thanks for the quick reply. Ah ok thats interesting. I didn’t realise writing on a blog would depend specifically on wix tools - and instead could be done via the website itself. Seems like that would be a nice thing to have.

Best wishes!

@Dan_Suhr Aaah I knew I wasn’t dreaming this…!

So on the mobile representation of my site, if I go to the blog (on my iPhone) and am currently logged in I see a “Create a Post +” button, which performs the exact behaviour I want. However I don’t see this in the desktop representation. And I dont even know how it’s there in the first place. In fact even if I switch to the mobile breakpoint/representation on Wix Studio it doesn’t actually show that “Create a Post” button.

Do you happen to know anything about this? I’ve tried googling - nothing yet.
