Hi All,
There’s clearly a need for more advanced menu features in Wix, and it’s my understanding they they are working on it. Until this is available in the editor, what have you all done to get around the issue of triggering using hoverboxes/lightboxes to produce a Mega Menu effect? What have you done to organize large site structure with a much more custom, wide, multi-columned menu system?
I’ve been able to achieve the effect in terms of look & feel but you lose all site structure, orphan each page and many functions within it. What are some of the ways you’ve worked a mega menu in, make editable/manageable menus and keep the site structurally sound?
Looking for all and any ideas.
Thank you
For reference, this what a mega menu is (image below).
It is a multi-column, wide, positioned menu. Sometimes they have images, sometimes they do not. I know Wix is working on this but I’m wondering what others have done to achieve this, and still retain their site’s hierarchy – so that you don’t have a huge mess of orphaned pages and sections on your hands.
One potential solution: can lightboxes be shared across an entire site? As in, can a single lightboxes be defined and then made into dynamic pieces that let you pull a single lightbox into a page from 1 or 100 different pages? So that any change to the menu structure is referenced in each page that calls the lightbox – instead of using the Wix-defined hierarchy menu in the editor?
