Why WixCode forum always shows "under maintenance" in Chrome

Hi Guys,
I got a strange problem. For some unknown reason, WixCode forum always shows “under maintenance” when I open it in Chrome. But it works ok in IE Edge on the same Windows 10 laptop. Tried flush cache, restart browser, still the same. In the end got no choice but use the annoying IE Edge to access WixCode forum. But there’s no issue accessing other Wix web pages with Chrome… Any idea why?

I just tried and it’s working fine in Chrome.

I am having the very same problem

Hi felipedeamonteiro, thanks for the info. Was wondering may be it’s related to location. I am in Australia, would you mind telling us where are you located? Thanks

I also tried Chrome on another 2 Windows 7 laptops, one worked, one having same issue.
Then tried Chrome/Safari from OS X MacBook, but both worked ok on the Mac. So I was totally lost/confused.

Hi,
We are inspecting this issue,
Thank you for letting us know about it.
Roi

Hi guys. I´m located in Brazil. Thanks

Hi guys,
Any console errors?

Hey Wix team,
I also had this issue for 4-5 hours two days back in this same forum(not sure about exact time and date). I thought it was due to some normal maintenance process of wix. But since people are reporting this i would also like to comment here what I experienced. BTW I am from Germany.

Hi Liran,

There’s no console or logon involved at all. Just visit the web site https://www.wix.com/code/home/forum with Chrome it shows the big bold message straight away. Even after flush all cache/cookies and then restart Chrome. It just come up straight away.

For me it started about 1-2 weeks ago.

Hi Guys,

I think I found the reason. As below, on my Windows 10 laptop, from upper right hand side corner, noticed Chrome shows “Cookies blocked” message. Even if I tried to click “Always allow https://www.wix.com to set cookies”, clear cache, restart Chrome, still same problem. I then tried to click on “Manage”, and then disable “block third-party cookies”, that fixed the problem!

Another way to disable “block third-party cookies” is Settings → Advanced → inside the box of “Privacy and Security”, click “Content settings” → Cookies, then disable it.

Also checked the other Windows 7 laptop and confirmed it’s the same reason. Please test and let me know if that’s the case for your machines.

Finally, can Wix guys please investigate why blocking third party cookies caused the problem? As my understanding is, it’s recommended to enable that for security reason. And quite a lot of companies use Active Directory policy to force their work laptops/machines to have that enabled by default and won’t allow staff to change it. I believe Wix wouldn’t want to exclude all users using Chrome from work laptops/machines!!

Wix code forum opened in normal chrome window and incognito window.
It is working in normal window and is not working in incognito mode.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the inconvenience but we are making some effort to improve the forum.
It should be working great in normal mode.

Liran.

I’m fine at home, but at work policy enforces blocking 3rd party cookies in Chrome. There seems to be some clamp down in IE as well. I can see the forum pages, but I had to wait until I was at home to post this reply because I couldn’t view it in Chrome, and the login wouldn’t work in IE to post an answer (I could click on it as much as I wanted, but nothing happened) For what it’s worth, the Start Now button on the upper right worked fine. Mozilla’s a cluster from policy enforcement; so I didn’t try that at work at all…

Hi Guys,

Today I noticed that it´s working in Chrome again. Thanks!

I’ll try again from work…

Well… it crashed again… I´m in Microsoft Edge…

Tested in work environment. It seems they have an enterprise restricted version of Chrome that blocks 3rd party cookies and doesn’t allow you to change the configuration. IE is also still not allowing you to login to the forum; so no joy in mudville…

I tried today, still the same for me for work laptop. Chrome with third party cookies blocked still showing “under maintenance”.
With IE11, can’t upload any image, “backspace” key cleared the whole line and can’t hit “publish”… so basically can’t access Wix Code Forum from work laptop.

Guys, FYI I reported this new “Reference field” issue in this post https://www.wix.com/code/home/forum/questions-answers/how-to-create-reference-field-instruction-very-unclear/ which I believe is also due to the same "Block third party cookies"setting.
Please let me know if you also experience the same issue.
Cheers
