Will migrating Wix Editor to Wix Studio be possible?

Not talking about Editor X but the ‘original’ editor. Will it be possible to migrate sites that were created on Wix Editor to Wix Studio?

Thank you in advance!

Hey @anni_1 @Laura_Soifer!

Great question. The team knows how important it would be to have this ability and is exploring how this might work.

That being said, the current focus is ensuring there is a seamless transition between Editor X and Wix Studio. There is currently no ETA for moving classic sites to Wix Studio, but I’ll be sure to take your question as a request

Hi @noahlovell ,

That’d be truly great! Some people on Reddit are debating this question as well, so it’d be truly an amazing option for the thousands of classical sites that want to make their website even better for their customers and clients.

Thank you, Noah!

Imigrating from Wix Editor to Editor X is now possible. I believe they are working to make this happen with Editor Studio. Hoping it happens soon.

Is there any update on adding this functionality to Wix Studio. I created my PD Support Group website with Wix Editor and would like ot be able to edit it in Wix Studio which I was granted access to last week. Please advise , thanks.

Hey @sal-gardino @user169!

Thanks for checking back on this one.

We shared a topic the other day - Community update: what’s next for Wix Studio - which outlines what the next steps are for Wix Studio.

At the moment, migrating sites from the Wix Editor to Wix Studio is not in our plans for 2024. Our top priority is to continue making Wix Studio the ultimate platform for your needs—with the best performance and creation experience possible.

If you have any other questions, let me know

Thanks so much for your reply. So, how would I go about creating a brand new website in the Wix Studio editor and then replace my current Premium site that I created in the standard Wix Editor? Is this even possible? Please let me know, thanks.

Roger, We’re in the same boat. The thought of redeveloping our site from scratch makes us bummed.

I can’t help feeling left behind by Wix. Rather than adding new features and possibilities to their original platform, available for everyone, instead, they launched brand new editors, first Editor X which has now been superseded by Wix Studio, leaving behind the people who spent countless hours building websites with the original editor since the beginning. This seems like such a bizarre move. There isn’t even the option of transferring media files, photography, saved designs or shops and products. The only available option is to restart from scratch, losing all SEO and ranking, and having to spend months re-designing my website.

Please Wix, if anyone in your business cares about your early supporters and the thousands of people still using the original editor, make the migration a feature priority for 2024.

Thanks for your reply Noah. Great job my friend👍

Hi all, I would like to rebuild my site from Wix editor to Wix Studio. I accept the work, but can someoen tell me how to do it? The help form Wix, just staes you need to redo it, but how, what are the best steps? My assumption is that I create a free website with wix studio without google indexing it and then when I am finshed and ready to make the change after doing lots of QA, i point this studio site to my domain and drop the edito site? What is lost in this chnage ? Would google jsut notice an update to my site or do I lose reputation and SEO? IS there a better way to make the switch? I need responsiveness more than anything right now. So it is Wix Studio or Wordpress. I can do the above procedure with Wordpress too, but I do not know the Pros and Cons. thanks for any help you can give.
