Wix blog page to have the same URL as blog posts before /

I want to set my wix blog to “/news” and for the posts to be at “/news/post-slug”.

I’ve set the blog page to be “/news”, but the posts are still at the url “post/post-slug”. When I try to change the URL of the post page, I can’t because it’s already in use by another page.

What can I do to achieve my goal?

To achieve the URL structure you desire for your Wix blog, where the main blog is at /news and the posts are at /news/post-slug, you can follow these steps:

  1. Change Blog Page URL: Since you’ve already set your blog gm-socrates page to /news, ensure that this change has been saved and published.
  2. Modify Post URLs:
  • Access the Blog Manager in your Wix Editor.
  • Open a post as if you were going to edit it.
  • On the left side, you will see a Settings panel.
  • Click on the SEO button.
  • Here, you will find the URL slug section. By default, it is the title of your post, but you can change it to anything you like, including adding /news/ before the post slug.
  1. Check for Conflicts: Ensure that no other page on your site is using the /post URL. If there is a conflict, you will need to change or remove the conflicting page’s URL.
  2. 301 Redirects: If you change the URL structure of existing posts, set up 301 redirects to prevent broken links and preserve SEO rankings. This can be done in the SEO Tools section of your Wix dashboard.
