Hello,
I have an issue with my Wix Booking settings. I have set the appointment session duration to 2 hours for the room named “Party room.” However, for example, when a customer books the 13:00 session on Sunday, the system should block both time slots (13:00 and 14:00) due to the 2-hour session duration, but it only blocks the 13:00 slot while the 14:00 slot remains available. Since there is only one room and one staff member, having two sessions concurrently is not possible.
I would like to know if this is due to a configuration error or a system issue, and I need help finding a solution. Could you please assist me?
Thank you,
I added one room to the resource types in Wix Booking.
The resource type room is named: “Party room”.
There is one employee assigned to the room.
Standard working hours are as follows:
- Monday: 10:00–20:00
- Tuesday: 10:00–20:00
- Wednesday: 10:00–20:00
- Thursday: 10:00–20:00
- Friday: 10:00–20:00
- Saturday: 10:00–20:00
- Sunday: 11:00–18:00
The one employee’s working hours are the same as the standard working hours.
The appointment sessions are arranged daily as follows:
- Monday: 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00

- Wednesday: 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00
- Thursday: 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00
- Friday: 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00

- Sunday: 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00
All sessions are assigned to the resource type room named “Party room”.
For all sessions, the session duration is set to 2 hours.
Question/Support Subject:
When a customer purchases an available session time on the appointment calendar for a specific date, the “Party room” becomes unavailable for 2 hours. I want later customers, when viewing the same date, to be prevented from purchasing a time slot that is not available.
Example:
If a customer purchases the 13:00 session on Sunday, the “Party room” will be unavailable for 2 hours. Both the 13:00 and 14:00 time slots should appear as closed for sale or unavailable in the appointment calendar. Another customer should not be able to purchase the 14:00 time slot on the same day.
Note:
Despite configuring everything in the appointment service I set up, after the “Party room” is purchased for 2 hours, the appointment calendar shows the first hour as closed for sale while the second hour remains available. For instance, when I purchased an appointment at 13:00 on February 16, 2025, the session duration of 2 hours should have made both the 13:00 and 14:00 slots unavailable, but only the 13:00 slot was closed while the 14:00 slot stayed open. Since there is only one room and one employee, two sessions cannot occur at the same time.
