Wix Bookings - adding buffer time before session

Hi. Is there a feature for wix bookings which adds a buffer time before the sessions start?

Eg: I have my google calendar synced for wix bookings. If I have made a personal appointment manually in my google calendar from 2-3pm, it shows not available from 2-3pm in wix bookings.

But wix bookings immediately shows a booking slot at 3pm.
(it basically does not take a buffer if I have manually added a entry in google calendar)

I want to have 30mins buffer before and after the start and end times for manual entries also .

So wix booking should ideally show the next slot at 3.30pm instead of 3pm itself.

Is there a way to work it out?


If you head to Settings> Booking Policy. There should be an option to add this. I can’t remember what it’s called but I’m pretty sure it’s there

Yes. That setting also exists. I have played around with that. I still need a 30min buffer though.

Even if you put a 15min or 45min one in the “every x mins” section. And I would manually put in an appointment in my google calendar from say 2.15-2.45pm. The next available time slot in wix bookings would then show 2.45pm and not 3pm.

I feel it should work with “based on service duration” section but it does not.

My mistake. I thought it was in the Booking Policy. It is doable though, now that I’ve checked where it is :sweat_smile:

Head to Booking Services> Edit the Booking> Service Details> Buffer Time

STILL NOT WORKING! MY CLIENT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE- IT’S 2024! With this being a major feature to use with WixStudio’s - can we get this fixed ASAP?

Einat from Wix Bookings here. Sorry to hear you’re having some issues with setting up buffer time. Currently buffer time is available only for after session in order to give you enough time to prepare for the next session. Buffer is set for a service so adding appointment manually to your personal calendar will create a blocked time in your Bookings Calendar and not a service.

I am having an issue too. I have a 15 min buffer for my appointments as I need time to get ready etc. But if I have a class session through bookings that ends at 10:35 am the first appointment availability to setup an appointment is showing 10:35 am when there should be a 15min buffer. I can see a 15 mins buffer in between appointment but it doesn’t add a buffer to a class or any other blocked time etc. So it means if someone books I would end a group class and immediately have to jump on a call to a coaching client. It seems I would have to go in a manually block out additional time after a class so that a coaching appointment doesn’t get booked on the exact time a class finishes. The buffer should be able to be set for classes as well as appointments.

I am having this problem. There doesn’t appear to be a way to add a buffer after a class session. I just had a client book an appointment at the exact time a class session ends. I cannot find a way to avoid this in the future other than adding blocked time on my calendar for every session.

Unfortunately, like you mentioned it is not possible to set buffer time to class or to set buffer before session starts - but - this is definitely in our plans.
