How do I fix an issue with staff availability syncing with business hours?

What are you trying to achieve:
My client requested to have her business hours set to give her a break in the afternoon. Which I did. However, she then set custom hours, which was overriding her business hours, thereby not recognizing her breaks. She is the only staff member for the business and each service availability is set to her.
What have you already tried:
I have tried removing her custom hours, which I thought should have reverted her availability to the set business hours. That just showed no available appointments. I then reviewed her booking settings, to be sure there were no rules which may have been applied and causing the issue. There were none. I then tried adding a new staff member and assigned them to the services. However, again the services just showed up no availability. Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. If this question was asked before I do apologize, I did not see it come up when I searched.
