WIX Code Coming Soon Features Doubts!!!

Hello Wix team,

I have few doubts regarding the new features that are coming to wix code. I am really interested in these features and it would be great if any one can explain how these features will approximately function when it is added to Wix Code. It will be also great if you can tell me an approximate release date. By release date i mean an approximate month, quarter or a year developers like me can use the features in beta mode.

  1. Members area :. How this feature will work? and how flexible it will be for the site users to create their own member page.

  2. Concurrent Editing : How are you designing this feature. Can the site owner assign the contributors to specific pages or database and protect the other pages with a password?. For example, I don’t want my contributor who is responsible for design and content of the home page to see the contents of my database or my other important pages in the website. Will it work like that?

  3. Additional Components: Will the address input provide real time address autofill option or is it just a text input?

  4. Chat APIs: Will it support member to member chat support instead of currently present member to admin chat?

  5. Developer Experience: Are you planning a desktop editor instead of the laggy browser based editor? I would love to see a desktop based editor and multiple window for code and design sections.

  6. Contacts APIs: What do you mean by creation of private and social pages using Wix Code ? How will it approximately look like and how will it function?

And my final question is are you planning to commercialise wix code feature in future. I am currently a premium user with a average plan and I don’t want to invest my whole time developing with wix code only to know in future that I need to spend a lot of money for using it.

Thanks for your reply. I already had an email conversation last october with one of your product managers who was dealing with chat API. Anyway I am happy to share my thoughts and questions again regarding other wix code features through email.
