Wix Event Overlapping other Strips

I have an Wix Event calendar set up on our homepage. When someone clicks Load More the calendar then overlaps/ goes through elements underneath it (which are in separate strips) rather than expand the calendar’s strip. Oddly enough, the strip does expand just fine in the mobile version. I have tried different browsers and computers, this made no difference for the desktop version. Am I missing a setting? Is anyone else having this problem?

This is a Strips (classic Editor) layout limitation, not a setting you’re missing. Strips are given a fixed height at design time, and elements below them are positioned relative to that fixed boundary. When the Events widget grows itself dynamically at runtime (Load More adding rows), it changes its own height but the strip it sits in doesn’t recalculate, so anything below just gets covered instead of pushed down.

The reason mobile works is that mobile view in the classic Editor already stacks sections and reflows for content height, desktop strips don’t.

A few ways around it depending on how much you want to change:

  • Quick fix: add generous empty space below the calendar inside its own strip so Load More has room to expand into before it reaches the next strip’s content. Not elegant, but it stops the overlap for a typical number of extra rows.
    • Cleaner fix: move that section to the newer Sections-based Editor (Wix Studio), which does reflow content below a widget that grows, instead of using fixed strips.
      • Alternative: swap the built-in calendar widget for one that paginates instead of expanding in place (or a Velo-coded repeater), so the strip height never has to change after load.
    • Given the description this reads as a rendering quirk rather than something wrong on your end, so worth flagging to Wix support too if it’s blocking you, but the strip-height behavior above is the actual cause.
