Wix Newbie: I can't find HTML and CSS. Are Wix-hosted websites drag-and-drop only?

I’m a retired software developer (1974-2007) and currently volunteer at a museum. Since I have a software background, I got “volunteered” to maintain the museum’s website. The website is partially finished and hosted by Wix. I’ve watched several of the beginner videos, but they don’t answer my questions. I am completely lost with this site.

I can’t find where I can edit the HTML or CSS directly. It appears websites hosted on Wix can only use Wix’s proprietary drag-and-drop editor. I can’t edit pages using my favorite editor and then FTP them to the live website. Is this correct?

Can I add HTML snippets? For example, I have some tables that have hundreds of cells that are already in HTML format. Can I cut and paste the table or do I have to retype everything into a new table in the Wix editor? (Also, I can’t find tables in the Wix editor.)

Thank you.

If you are using Wix Classic Editor, Its not possible to access CSS as the classic editor is mostly drag-and-drop.

If your site is a Wix Studio website, You can access the CSS by accessing the dev mode.

But Neither editors allow you to access HTML in Wix.

You can add HTML snippets as iFrames or if you want to add tables, you have to add the data into Wix CMS (Wix Database) and then connect it with a Wix Table element. Its not possible to add data to wix tables without connecting a database. Please let me know if you need any further details.
