I need to add a new email entry to a segment in the email contacts list. I tried adding an automation to my form. However, the choices for actions includes adding a label but not adding a segment. I would like to do this automatically to sync my email contacts list with mailchimp.
Segments work a little differently in that they sort function like automation since contacts will enter segments when certain actions/values are met.
While there isn’t an action to add within automations nor is there a filter within Segments for forms, you could create an automation that adds a label to a contact when they fill out form.
Then create a segment so it matches the label you created. Be aware that segments update daily though you can manually refresh it if needed (I don’t think there’s a way to automatically refresh the segments).
From there, there are automations to once a user enters a segment. For my example, I used it to create pipeline cards.
