Be Careful! Wix Code IS BROKEN for Custom Lightboxes!

Hi. I was wondering how many coders’ sites are effected. I have my site at kurtsuchomel.com with a portfolio made with data and Wix code. It was working fine then I noticed on February 19 that the gallery images (which should open up a dynamic lightbox) did not work anymore. I had changed no code.

I checked my preview site and they still worked fine there. I reported the problem and it been now over a MONTH and there is still NO fix! This is astounding to me. Customer service cannot even tell me an estimate of when the bug fix will be in place.

How as a designer and coder does Wix expect me to promote Wix to my clients when I can’t even show my own portfolio on Wix?!? Let’s just say my confidence level is not very hight right now.

This needs to be fixed and NOW! My patience has run out!

Your gallery appears to be connected dynamically, correct?
Console says the error appears here because at least one item is throwing out ‘undefined’ as description:

wixWindow.openLightbox('PortfolioLightbox', {id: event.item.description});

Could it maybe be some change to your database that’s causing problems?
Just a thought, hope it helps.

Hi. Yes, but in preview mode it does not throw any errors on click. It is a Wix site problem, confirmed with customer support.

@kurtsuchomel I was just thinking that it could be because the error is in the live database, and not in the Editor’s, as the preview mode refers to the Editor’s while the site uses live. In any case, I don’t use galleries so this could be useless speculation. Best of luck.
