Best method to create a Vertical Header with Wix Editor

Question:
Hi, what is the best method for creating a large vertical header with 15+ links, that is ideally collapsible and allows the rest of the page to scroll along side it?

Product:
Wix Editor

What are you trying to achieve:
We have a lot of pages on our site, 15+, all with long names. A horizontal nav won’t display them all neatly, and we can’t group them together as they are unrelated, each must be displayed in the navbar. Our current approach is a collapsible, vertical navbar that opens on the left side of the screen and displays the page links in a list. The menu would allow for the page content to scroll next to it.

What have you already tried:
We have tried formatting the page with strips, adding a column and setting them at 20:80 ratio. We then colour the left most column to act as the menu background. We pin a vertical menu to the screen and that gives the illusion of a vertical navbar, but it feels hacky and incomplete.

We have also tried using a lightbox, but it means users can’t view the nav and the page content at the same time, we don’t want to be hiding the nav at any time ideally.

Additional information:
Is this something that perhaps isn’t easy to do by default, but could be done in dev mode? Happy for any ideas!
