Hi everyone,
I’m using Wix Events for ticketed events and I’ve run into a common but tricky scenario.
Some of the registration fields I need to collect are sensitive, and many buyers purchase tickets on behalf of other people (friends, colleagues, delegates, etc.).
The challenge
When using “1 form per ticket”, Wix requires the buyer to fill in the attendee’s information during checkout.
This creates a problem because:
-
The buyer may not know the attendee’s details
-
The buyer should not be entering sensitive personal information for someone else
-
It creates a poor UX and privacy concerns
What I’m trying to achieve
-
Buyer completes checkout without entering sensitive attendee data
-
Buyer only provides attendee email address(es)
-
Each attendee later receives a private link to complete their own registration form
-
Works for:
-
Single-ticket buyers
-
Group purchases
-
No Wix member accounts
-
Current approach
-
Using “1 form per order” at checkout
-
Collecting attendee emails only
-
Sending each attendee a unique, one-time claim link after purchase
-
Attendees complete an event-specific form after checkout
This works technically, but I want to confirm:
My questions
-
Is this the recommended / accepted pattern when using Wix Events for group or delegated ticket purchases?
-
Are there any native Wix features I may have missed that solve this more elegantly?
-
How are others handling privacy-sensitive data in similar scenarios?
Would really appreciate insights from anyone who has implemented ticketing for conferences, corporate events, or group registrations.
Thanks in advance!
