Hello everyone,
I’ve been working on improving SEO for a small clothing website and wanted to get some advice from the community.
One challenge I’m facing is ranking niche product pages in Google. For example, pages related to traditional clothing like mens kurta or ethnic wear often compete with large marketplaces and fashion brands.
Some strategies I’ve been testing include:
• optimizing product page titles and meta descriptions
• improving page speed and mobile responsiveness
• creating detailed descriptions about fabric and clothing styles
• building internal links between related products
I’ve also been analyzing different clothing websites to understand how they structure their product pages and content.
For example, this fabric website has a simple layout and clear product categories:
https://gracefabrics.com/
I’m curious how others here approach SEO for small fashion or clothing websites built with modern platforms.
Do you focus more on technical SEO, content optimization, or backlinks?
Thanks in advance for your insights!
I’m by no means, an SEO expert, so don’t have much specific advise - that said, I’d recommend taking a look through some of the SEO resources we have available - https://www.wix.com/seo/learn - there’s a whole range of webinars, guides, articles etc that should help point you in the right direction
Hi , @jasontodd110
I ran your site through PageSpeed Insights , the site is facing LCP delays and render-blocking scripts - these are likely affecting SEO performance. And ranking niche product pages in fashion is tough, especially against marketplaces, but there are a few practical areas that usually make the biggest difference.
1.Fix LCP (main issue):
2.Reduce scripts/apps:
This directly improves load time + Core Web Vitals.
3. Strengthen product page content (SEO gap)
-
Add 150–300 words of unique content per product (not generic)
-
Include keywords naturally: fabric, occasion, fit, use-case
-
Add FAQ section (helps with long-tail ranking)
4. Optimize collection pages
5.Internal linking:
-
Add “related products” section
-
Link blogs ⇒ categories ⇒ product
-
Get a few links from niche blogs or directories
Fix speed issues + strengthen collection pages + add a few backlinks -that’s what will actually move rankings .
Alternatively , You can also use tools like Website Speedy to handle image optimization and script delay automatically, especially if you want a quicker setup though it is completely optional to use.
