From the first week of January, Wix Bookings will gradually move to the eCommerce platform which means you and your clients can look forward to:
A fresh look and feel to pages like Orders and Checkout
The ability to charge custom amounts, tips, and more
Access to new features like gift cards, refunds, varied prices and tax options
An improved checkout experience and more
Your clients’ sites that feature Wix Booking capabilities will automatically update to the new and improved version and do not require any action or upgrade from your side.
To learn more about the new booking features read this article and watch the Partners Demo with Rom Lampel Wix Product Expert, we did back in Sep, 2022.
Moving to the eCommerce platform will enable more booking capabilities going forward, stay tuned
I can no longer find the Checkout page to design within my Editor after your update. Also the Calendar sessions no longer show how each registration paid/booked for their spot (coupon, pricing plan, individually etc).
These are 2 downgrades I noticed after your update.
When will know once it’s upgraded I have hundreds of sites with bookings. I created a blank template to see if the new updates would show but everything looks the same so far, am I missing something?
I got the update. Not thrilled due to the following downgrades:
This update forces Bookings to come in as Unfulfilled orders (even though they’re unrelated from the Store…) and there’s no off switch.
The Class bookings sessions now only show that it’s “Paid” but not how (coupon/pricing plan or single payment) the client paid unlike it used to before this update.
The bookings Checkout page is missing in the Editor so there’s no way to edit/design it anymore.
The payment information is now presented as a part of the order. It can be found in the appointment modal in the calendar and in manage participants.
Each booking has it’s link to the order.
Hi PMEZ Media & Shannah,
Please find my response to the issues reported above.
[Booking to come in as unfulfilled orders] - It has been fixed. All bookings will be automatically fulfilled like digital products, because they’re not shippable items. You should see the fix already on your site.
[The Class bookings sessions now only show that it’s “Paid”] - It is beeing fixed. You should notice the fix at the end of the week after the next at latest.
This doesn’t make sense. Why remove it in the first place from where it was? Not only are ‘Orders’ being created out of thin air now just because someone booked (even if it was merely redeemed from a Pricing Plan aka no payment happened) but now you’re telling me that I have to take multiple extra steps just do find out how a class session was paid for/booked. This becomes even more annoying on the Owners app.
I used to be able to edit the checkout page from the editor. The Dashboard editing tools provide no design options unlike the Checkout page did (though limited).
I am not able to save the changes in the Thank You page - for example, the link for ‘Continue Browsing’. Anything changed in the Settings Text is reverted to default.
It would be SO GREAT! If there was a notification when a site updates. I have HUNDREDS and so many client’s waiting, I spend so much time going in and out of dashboards looking for these elusive updates. … HELP! Client’s are clawing at me for these updates. Based in Canada and still waiting! … I agree with bookings showing up in orders, it’s extremely confusing to most site owners that do have this now (my US client’s).
