Can connect a button from a page to a dynamic category page

I just did as defined in the video tutorial to setup and create a dynamic category page.
In a page I set a button and it can’t be connected to the dynamic category page using the link.
what can be done ?
The video don’t fit the website functionality …:frowning:

Knowlegelib Typepage - is a dynamic category page.
there is no option to connect and define the field name

Hi,
Once you choose a dynamic page from the pages list you should get a list of possible items that can be connected to. Please make sure you’ve entered some records into the database in order to see the options list.

Hi, The data collection is defined with several fields like : type, url , details and more.
there is info in the live data collection . this is not the problem.
The “Which item” option isn’t in the window.
Find below a prt. sc of the data base with records.
Please advice.

Is there data in the sandbox?

No. Only in live data.

While in the editor, only sandbox data is taken into consideration.
Please add items to it (or sync from live) in order to see the list of options in the link panel.

Dear Ohad,
I’m working online.

  1. Added data to the sandbox. now it is possible to connect the dynamic page to the button via the link = the Done button is available. but still the “which item” filed isn’t displayed in the menu…Why ?
  2. Why the sandbox data is influencing to the option to connect the dynamic page to a button when building the website via the editor ??

Hi,

  1. I’m not sure what’s the reason. The “which item” displays all the items fields that are relevant to the field you chose for your category dynamic page.

  2. What you do is referred to as “static binding”, meaning you are setting the link in a static way that won’t be later effected by the data. This is why the sandbox and editor are used. If you wish to link dynamically, you should use the “connect” option on your button as opposed to using the “link” option.

I am trying a button from a dynamic page to link to other dynamic page.But the same button should open different dynamic page as per the item category.How do I do that.Please help me .If required I can explain the situation with the screenshots.
