Hey is there a way of changing the Text themes in the Rich Text field on the databases or tell the database to take the settings from the selected site?
As soon as one of my team goes into changing one of the rich text fields with the internal database it overrides the font that was assigned from the Rich Text component on the live site.
Thanks

Yes! This just makes sense to me. It’s getting a little exhausting manually updating each Rich Text field in my database. What if I had a database with hundreds of items!? They all just default to Proxima Nova? Would be awesomw if the Headings dropdown matched what was in my chosen editor’s site theme. Frustrating.
I need it to be the Rich Text field because I have multiple paragraphs in each field entry.
Yes, there are some serious drawbacks with text and rich text, this being one of them. There should be a way to default the text font and size attributes for the entire column. My database has hundreds of entries. Using text (instead of rich text) within the pages is NOT an option because there is no (sane) way to add a simple linefeed or pagebreak - all the clever workarounds suggested just highlight the fact that the most basic of escape characters don’t work in the regular text box. People have been complaining about this for several years now.
Any solution? It’s more than 2 years, and many complaint threads, about how the database is buggy with text formatting if there are carriage returns between paragraphs. I tried the solution to “edit in the database directly” - that didn’t work. I tried a dev solution to “do the writing in a 3rd party app and paste it into the database”. That resulted in the editor changing it to P2 instead of P1. Nothing I’m doing is working to maintain desired format, even as simple as P1 with line breaks above and below a bullet list. Ideas? Anyone?
Hi Maya,
As I mentioned in a previous thread, please contact Wix Customer Care to report any bugs or feature requests with the component or content manager. They will notify product teams of bugs or create feature request articles to collect votes. Thanks.
@marlowe-shaeffer Thank you. I posted this in the other thread, but I’ll add it here in just in case - I finally found a solution – When I edit the Rich Text using the table view, it did not work properly. But when I expanded the row to the Form View, using the double-arrows in the first column, and then edited my Rich Text there, it has been working* for me. *(Fingers-crossed it stays that way!)
I hope this tip will help others! Now if only I could learn Velo coding by pure osmosis! haha
