Clarify Premium Plan transfer to Wix Studio?

Hi everybody,

I’m sorry if the subject is redundant, but I need to make it clear for both my client and me.

My question is just about transferring the Plan and domain, not data, CMS items etc.

I’m working with Wix for a couple of month. I’m making a new website for someone. The old one is build with Wix Classic Editor and the new one with Wix Studio.

The old one has Premium Plan. The Wix Studio is for now a free website.

I read articles and forum topics about transferring the plan and the domain, and I’d like to clarify if I understood good before my client will have to pay something.

When it’s told to upgrade the plan before the reassignment to the new site (classic to Studio), am I right if i understood that :

1. In Wix Studio the client has to buy a new Plan for the Wix Studio website.
2. Then we reassign the plan in the Classic Wix to Wix Studio.
3. If the current Premium plan cycle (Wix Classic) is not yet finished (one year left out of two), the remaining credits will be refund to the client. Or do Wix detect during the purchase of the Studio Plan that it’s the same owner and will offer to my client to deduct the remaining credits from the Classic Premium Plan from the Studio Business Plan ?
4. One the plan is transferred, I can transfer the domain.

I hope It’s clear enough
Thanks for your reading and your help.

It’s solved. Thanks for passing by.
Even if I had the billing and payment permissions, I couldn’t upgrade the Plan from the Classic website. Only the owner, my client, could do that.

To me, the information at the beginning of this article is wrong, because I was the co-owner with full permissions and I couldn’t do anything.

Besides that, the upgrade worked and it transferred the domain at the same time. That was great.

Thanks for taking the time to loop around with the solution :folded_hands:
