I’m fairly new to Wix, but I’m very happy with all the features.
I’m trying to create large database with a few 1000 products.
It should be organizable via filters, search, etc.
The main thing is it should NOT be an online store with products which people can buy.
So there a two options (as far as I know):
create a store and disable the shopping cart function.
create a cms database and add all the filters etc.
And both options don’t work for me, maybe you can help:
If I create a store I can disable the shopping cart and buy function one the website, but NOT in the mobile application. Is this correct?
And I can create a cms but this is not available in a mobile app. Is this correct or is there a workaround?
I’m not bound by a specific editor, so that is not a boundary for me if that helps.
This sounds like an interesting project. If you have a few more details to share about the ideal outcome - for example, do users request a quote, is it just to showcase the items etc, it might help point you in the right direction.
Either way, I believe you’re right on these two (assuming you’re interested in using either the “Spaces by Wix” app, or the “Branded app”):
It should be a showcase of all kind of products.
Why not the option to buy the product? They are not my products, but I collect product information from different clients and create a database.
Maybe in the future a price comparison option when you view a product.
I’m creating a concept for now, and I’m testing if I can work with Wix.
I like Wix because of the simplicity and community options I would like to add (forum, blog, etc).
I want to create a branded app, I assume there is no other option?
Clients shouldn’t be aware it is a Wix product.
The only thing I can think of:
I can create a work around by creating groups. Inside the group I can add a manual designed page. And in this page I can embed a website. And this website is the cms or store from my own website, but without the shopping cart.
