Code Panel Moved to the left side!?

I am not sure if the Wix creators deal with designing a website since this is a very regressive decision to move the code panel to the side. All the other editors allow viewing and selecting layers and other tools on the side panel while working with code on the bottom of the page. Now this is completely disabled. To see the layers the code panel has to be closed. Non-sense. Please place the code panel back to the bottom for a much better user experience. Thanks.

Moved this topic to the Feedback category

Yeah, I am also in agreement on this @SCW.

@SCW The Code Panel is best for smaller development tasks, and for larger tasks we recommend using the Wix IDE, which is based on VScode.
However, I was informed that the Code Panel is currently in the process of being improved to be easier to use. In the next phase, you’ll be able to code within Wix Studio more conveniently. This is just the beginning and the teams are very open to feedback, so thank you for yours!

To be honest I like the new update that moved code panel to left side. I can see the design and code at the same time easier than before. But panel design could be more clear. It would be great to collapse and expand classes and properties panel.

Thank you. Looking forward to seeing improvements. However, the only thing we need is to be able to access the layers panel while working with code instead of going in and out of panels - regardless of small or large development tasks.

I respectfully disagree. I just had to respond so Wix doesn’t get encourage by your response. While working with code if you need to access different sections, containers and other elements and change their IDs you have to close the code panel and open the layers panel every time. Selecting layers in the editor is not a good user experience. I always refer to the layers panel and see the entire structure of the website. Hope it makes sense.

Sorry to bother you here again. A few of the projects I am working and heavily relies on being able to see the code panel and the layers panel at the same time. I create advanced solutions with so many layers in multi-state boxes and containers. The code panel not being available and having to go back and forth closing in and out between the two panels make the work go so slow while increasing the risk of making mistakes. I am just wondering if there is an estimate timeline for the code panel to be improved and this issue being solved. Thank you again.

@SCW It’s not a bother! I was informed that it may be a few weeks before any changes are done regarding the code panel. For the time being, an option to prevent the code panel from blocking the editor is to manually zoom out in the browser.Regarding having to constantly switch between the code panel and layers panel, I’m seeing what I can find out about that!

Thank you.
Yes. The big issue is having to switch back and forth between the two panels so we can work fast and without losing focus. When you have hundreds of layers in containers and multi-state boxes it is a must to be able to see all the layers infront of us while working with code.
Thank you for the follow up!
