Please how do I fix this, I have a page with alo of elements and that page seems to be causing my wix editor to crash in some instance it shows “Code hung” or “out of memory” errors after the Editor crashes, please how do I fix this?
Hey! Sorry you are experiencing this. The best path would be to reach out to customer care so they can investigate and escalate to the proper team if needed.
The customer care has no clue on what the problem is and asking me to clear my cache and other inconveniencing things. I literally used another computer with a browser without a history and empty cache and problem still persists mostly on a specific page.
I’m sorry, that sounds super frustrating. You may have to approach it in a systematic fashion to drill down and figure out what is causing the issue. Maybe rebuilding the page one piece at a time and testing at each step or removing things and testing after each removal to narrow down the issue. I would continue to respond to customer support, however, and let them know that the first steps did not work for you otherwise they will assume your issue was solved
The page has alot of elements…wix should be able to handle this without making the editor crash all the time. This rarely happens on other pages
Unfortunately there is nothing I can do to help you with this issue other than what I have suggested thus far. I suggest to continue working with customer support as they will be able to route the issue if it ends up being a bug or something about your environment specifically. I would respond to them that cache clearing did not resovle the issue and continue working with them
I have told them all of that, most of them don’t read their emails properly except for Dara and Kat
There are a few things you can try to fix “Code hung” or “out of memory” errors on your Wix page:
-
Optimize your page elements: If your page has a large number of elements, it could be causing performance issues. Try reducing the number of elements on the page by deleting unnecessary elements or combining similar elements.
-
Optimize your images: Large images can also cause performance issues. Try resizing or compressing your images to reduce their file size.
-
Use Wix’s built-in optimization tools: Wix has a number of built-in optimization tools that can help improve the performance of your page.
-
Clear your browser’s cache: Sometimes, clearing your browser’s cache can help resolve performance issues. To clear your cache, follow these steps:
-
In your browser, open the “History” menu.
-
Select “Clear browsing data”.
-
Check the box next to “Cached images and files” and click “Clear data”.
- Use a different browser: If you’re still experiencing performance issues, try using a different browser to see if that helps.
If none of these solutions work, it’s possible that the issue is with your computer or internet connection. In this case, try restarting your computer or checking your internet connection to see if that resolves the issue.
If you’re still experiencing issues after trying these steps, it may be helpful to contact Wix support for further assistance.
I have alot of elements on that page and all are important, is that wix cannot handle heavy website pages?
Don’t put too much elements! Make use of datasets and repeaters! I’ve tried to add 100 images to the page and the page no longer load
Unfortunately I am experiencing the same issue.
I have been in contact with WIX support for a week now and apart from standard basic advice & replies (like clean the cache etc) I’ve not had much help.
Since WIX support team’ lack of willingness to resolve the issue is hindering the start up of my business, I have now decided to proceed with a competitor. I will also discourage anyone in the future to use this service ever again.
Just refreshing this and asking if anyone has found a solution to Error code: Out of Memory issue?
Quite frustrating indeed
To clarify - this has nothing to do with emptying cache / using another browser - nor using a high amount of elements. Why? I literally reinstalled my entire powerful PC - running Win10, and started an empty Wix template - same error appeared.
Wix - please fix this! It´s embarrassing!
The issue is computer specific. It happens on one of my desktops, Wix studio freezes up within 10 seconds of loading the page. This does not happen on my Windows laptop or Mac computer.
Also, this happens in three out of four website projects on the affected computer. It seems one of the sites is working just fine but the other three crash the page quickly, sometimes the site doesn’t even finish loading.
Antivirus disabled - on/off makes no difference, different browsers same outcome.
I also ran into this issue, tried Firefox and Explorer browsers, nothing worked, for some reason the page editor struggles to load fully. My CPU temp also jumps as the page freezes. I talked to customer support they helped me fix something momentarily. I was able to struggle for about 3 hours, and was able to change a picture on one of my site pages, the page loaded on the 100th attempt to the point where the button links in the editor loaded, but not the rest of the editor page. I was never able to get the publish button to load though Please WIX resolve this as soon as you can, Ill be forced to cancel my services and go to one of your competitors.
Hi, I am seeing this to I ran a new template on Edge, Chrome, Firefox. I have cleared all data on browser. There is a memory leak in the editor the moment I open it. Here is a screenshot, edge kills it when it hits around 6GB.
Chiming in that I’m also experiencing major memory issues trying to build my website. My chrome tab is logging 2GB of memory used. The editor loads… but barely. Trying to make changes to anything is frustratingly slow.
It’s a pretty standard website for a coaching business like mine, images are all optimized.
There are a fair few elements on a page because I use lots of text etc, but I didn’t know this would be such a problem.
Sharing in case anyone else is experiencing the same / has any recommendations!
Hi All @Team1 ,
Did this ‘Out of Memory’ issue ever get resolved for you all?
I just started using Wix for the first time and getting this ‘Out of Memory’ error message on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. I tried clearing the cache on my Google Chrome session and incognito window but still have the issue.
Reading through this thread, I can’t see a resolution being posted by the Wix team apart from the standard, ‘Try Incognito window and/or clearing cache’ which I tried and did not help me.
As a first time user of Wix, this issue is actually putting me off from using this product and going elsewhere. I read great reviews about Wix on online review sites but I beg to differ now.
Wix technical support - Are you able to shed some light on this issue please?
Kind Regards,
Sebastian
Do you use code on your websites-pages?
If so, do you have interval-functions running in the background?
Such intervals can slow down your site very quickly until you get similar errors.
I am getting the same issue recently - have not changed anything on my site, now does not matter what I do this error occurs, different browsers as well…
