Complex member driven CMS website - How do members keep information submitted up to date?

Question:
How do members keep the information up to date once they have submitted the initial input form? Note, Input Forms, CMS, Dynamic pages and lists are involved

How do I implement this?

Product:
Wix Studio

What are you trying to achieve:
The ability for a member to edit, at anytime they wish the details submitted via an input form of which is collected in in a CMS and presented via on the web.

Note - I know how to build the CMS and dynamic pages, it’s purely how to give the member / owner of each record the ability to edit and update details provided.

What have you already tried:
Being new to this, I have struggled to find the answer. No forum, video, blog etc. seems to answer exactly what I am looking for and therefore, as a next step I reach out to the forum in the hope someone can explain.

I was confident in what I was doing by using input forms (but then couldn’t work out how members / record owner keep the info submitted up to date), and then I videos on members area’s which made me think it needs to be completed in here. Upon pursuing this it just didn’t feel right.

Additional information:
My website is made up of pages and around 13 collections, all of which holds content provided by members and collaborators. Each database CMS is made up of quite a large amount of data.

Currently I have input forms of which members (the owner) are to complete and submit. Once submitted the information is presented in a CMS. The information is then presented on a public facing website in the form of a Dynamic List and Dynamic Pages.

Members ‘could’, if they wish complete up to 13 different input forms all connecting to different CMS’s. All of the data collected via the input form needs the ability to be updated via the member / owner of that record, at any time. Therefore, they will need access for multiple submissions to edit the content as and when required.

Hopefully this makes sense and thank you in advance.

If you don’t use code, you can have one cms collection connected to one dynamic page. It’s not possible to have two cms connected to one dynamic page, as far as I’m aware.

So you make an update page - make it a dynamic page connected to your cms of choice

Add the inputs you want (and a submit button at the end)

Make sure that the dataset is set to Read AND Write (click the little dataset box that shows on your dynamic page).

Makes sense?

Thank you for coming back to me.

Makes sense, I will have a play and see how it works for me.

I’ll keep you posted and thank you again.

Hi again,

So, it works. However I have few further questions.

I will have multiple input forms and the member could complete all of them if required. As long as the member is logged in, and I have created the ‘edit’ form to match, will each form hold the details of the person logged in?

Another question …

The forms relate to an entity, can I move the owner of that information to another user (member)?

Thanks (I’m sure this won’t be the last you hear from me  )
