Since we started end of last year to sell gift vouchers (via WixStores) for our events and services on our page, we sold over 70 vouchers, which means to us 1-2 vouchers per week which have to be created manually on Wix Coupons with a unique code.
At the moment there is no possiblity to sell gift vouchers directly to customers, so a voucher would be automatically created and sent to the paying customer.
Such an automation and official offer option at WixStores would be very benefitial, time saving and would lead to much more sales for many Wix Users, which do not use this strategy right now.
Also a Pain Point is at the moment:
If we create a gift voucher with the value of 130.- CHF and the customer chooses by accident a cheaper service e.g. for 60.- CHF. → his lasting 70.- CHF are lost!
There is no way to create vouchers like local site Credit Cards, which the customer can use till all the money got used. → Like on all the big online shops and local markets.
@sheyla Thank you. My team just approached me yesterday evening again, if there is a better solution for this?! It’s really frustrating for them, to have this not as an automated solution. Since a lot of clients need the gift vouchers just the day after and many times on weekends, it would be very benefital to have there an automation.
@workiapps The problem - unless it’s been resolved? - is that gift cards on Wix are only good for stores and merchandise - not for the whole site and bookings or classes or services. Is Wix working on allowing this soon? The holiday gift card sales that will be missed out on for those of us that don’t sell gear - only services - is substantial.
