I see there’s a bit of confusion, and hope to clear things up 
Wix Studio
Earlier this year (2025), a new unified menu was introduced to the Studio editor. This new menu has new features, such as having one component that supports horizontal, vertical and hamburger menus across breakpoints (more details here)
We have an article here that goes into more details about working with the new menus, with a section here that dives into creating dropdowns.
When creating a new menu item, select the “Dropdown” option, and by default, it will be an unlinked menu item, with submenu options.
If you wish to later apply a link to this menu option, you can do so from the 3 dots on the menu item
