Question:
Hello - I wondering how to create a sub-folder within my company site (which will be in Wix) for my client to view their proofing website.

What are you trying to achieve:
With my past website hosting, I was able to create a sub-folder within my site and name it based on my client’s business name. They could then view their new website during the build / proofing stage. As an example, I would send them a URL like this "https://mycompany.com/theircompany. This would take them to the proofing site. Is it possible to do this within Wix? My goal is to show my client a proofing site without wix banners and the Wix URL that is shown prior to connecting the site to a domain name.
What have you already tried:
Nothing yet, as I’m very new to Wix and still trying to learn how their platform works.

A similar functionality is offered by Wix, by default. Whenever you create a new site on Wix, the URL of the site is structered like this: https://mycompany.wixsite.com/theircompany
The only catch is that you cannot remove Wix’s name from the URL unless you purchase a premium plan and connect your site to a domain.
Thank you for your response. The links you sent are a help to me.
Is there a way to remove the Wix ad banner above the website header prior to assigning the site to a premium account? I’m refering to the “This site was designed with the Wix.com site builder…” I’d rather not have that there while proofing the site to clients.
EDIT: I’m wondering if using a sub-domain of MY company domain is an option?
Even if I have to purchase a premium account to do so, I’m fine with paying for what I get, I just don’t want the Wix branding on my work.
Hey Adam, in that case, you can join the Wix Partner Program, after which you can remove the Wix branding and have your company’s name and logo instead. You can learn more about it here.
Yes, would be a good option, since upgrading a site to a premium plan will not only remove the branding, but will also let you connect to your sub-domain. The only downside of this option would be that you’ll have to purchase a plan for every site that you create, which might be a bit unconventional.
Thank you again for your responses! I have signed up for a partner program but I am still seeing the banner above the header section on the sites I’m working on. I wonder if this is because I haven’t finished my own site and made MY account a premium account yet?
