Introducing App Tools

App Tools extensions let your app expose custom backend tools that Aria, Wix’s AI assistant, can discover and invoke on behalf of Wix users. When a user chats with Aria in the site dashboard, Aria identifies the right tool and calls it with the relevant input. Any functionality your app can perform - retrieving data, running workflows, completing actions, or calling 3rd-party APIs, can be exposed as a tool for users to interact with.

Business Manager Redesign

The Wix site dashboard (Business Manager) redesign is being rolled out with the Harmony theme. Update your app so it matches the new look — dashboard apps run in an iframe, so they don’t inherit the theme automatically. A guide is available to help you migrate to the new design.

eCommerce Cart V2 Release

Cart V2 unifies the eCommerce Cart and Checkout APIs into a single Cart entity that covers the entire purchase flow, from adding items to placing an order. Use it to build custom cart and checkout experiences without managing two separate entities and keeping them in sync. Cart V1 and Checkout V1 will be removed on February 1, 2027 - migrate by then, and use Cart V2 for all new development.

Harmony Site Theme CSS Variables

Wix site themes expose a set of CSS variables you can use to align your Editor React Components and other extensions with the site’s active design. Use them to read font, color, and spacing values defined by the theme — without hardcoding styles or manually syncing with site settings.

Connect Editor React Components to a Site Theme

You can now connect your Editor React Component’s colors and fonts directly to the site’s active theme. Use it to let your component adapt automatically when a user changes their site’s design, without requiring manual style overrides or separate configuration.

New API Highlights

  • Wix Rentals API – New API to create and manage rental bookings for resources such as conference rooms, equipment, and venues.
  • Get Paid Invoices APIs – New APIs to create, manage, and send business invoices, customize their appearance, and control how invoice numbers are generated.
  • Accessibility Scans API – New API to scan a Wix site for accessibility issues and retrieve results that people, apps, and coding agents can act on. Currently in Developer Preview.
  • Contacts Activity Log APIs – New APIs to create and read a permanent timestamped log of what has happened with a contact over time.
  • SEO APIs – New APIs to read and write a site’s SEO tags, including titles, descriptions, social share tags, canonical links, and structured data.
  • SEO Redirects API – New API to create and manage URL redirects, keeping old links working after pages are renamed or removed.
  • Online Programs Steps API – New API to manage the individual content units inside an online program section, including articles, videos, and quizzes.
  • Wix Payments Provider – VoidOrRefundTransaction, CaptureTransaction, and GetTransaction will be deprecated on 2026-09-30.
  • Email Marketing Campaigns API – New methods to create campaigns, get/update the composer, resend to non-openers, and preview campaign HTML before publishing.
  • Bookings Staff Members API – New methods to count, query, and search staff members, plus Set Service Provider.
  • Suggestions API – New API for prioritized actions that can improve a Google Ads Performance Max Leads campaign.
  • Form Templates API – New read-only API to list form templates for a namespace (authored in the app dashboard) and seed site forms from them. Currently in Developer Preview.
  • Containers Chat API – New API to integrate the Wix AI coding agent’s chat into an app.
  • Editor Page and Pages SDKs – New Editor SDK APIs to read information about pages managed through site page extensions.
  • Join Applications API – New API to manage online program participation, from application or invitation through approval, payment, and enrollment.
  • Gift Cards API – List Gift Cards By Email has been deprecated.
  • eCommerce Memberships Service Plugin – List Eligible Memberships has been deprecated.
