[Dev News] January Updates: Wix Harmony Release, New n8n Integrations, API Updates, and More

:rocket: Wix Harmony and Apps

Wix Harmony is Wix’s new AI-powered site editor, and the way apps and extensions work across Wix is evolving.
Apps can be installed in Harmony, though availability and behavior depend on the types of extensions an app uses. Many apps work as-is, while others may require adjustments to support Harmony users. Existing apps continue to work in Wix Editor and Wix Studio, and there’s no immediate action required. We recommend reviewing your app’s extension types, testing it on Harmony if relevant, and familiarizing yourself with the Harmony model to ensure compatibility moving forward.

:writing_hand: App Reviews and Ratings

We’ve updated how ratings are calculated in the Wix App Market, giving more weight to recent reviews so your overall rating better reflects your app’s current performance. Make sure to review user feedback regularly, reply to reviews, and encourage users to leave feedback after positive moments in your app.

:mag_right: New Syntax for SDK Query Methods

The Wix JavaScript SDK is transitioning from query builder methods to query methods based on the Wix API Query Language. This approach lets you pass a query object directly, providing a more consistent and flexible querying experience across Wix APIs. While existing query builder methods continue to work, migrating ensures long-term compatibility and access to future SDK improvements.

:robot: Wix Node on n8n

Our new Wix node is now available on n8n, enabling you to build end-to-end integrations with Wix from a single automation platform. With a wide range of Wix triggers, you can easily respond to site events and connect Wix to other tools and services within your workflows.

:lock: Custom Authentication Deprecation

Custom Authentication (Legacy) is deprecated for new apps, and OAuth Client Credentials is now the recommended authentication method on Wix. New apps should be built using OAuth Client Credentials, which offers a simpler and faster authentication flow. We recommend migrating existing apps to this approach for long-term compatibility, while apps currently using Custom Authentication will continue to work as usual.
