I might be a little too deep for my skill and knowledge base. I could also be overthinking this process and the simplicity it has posed thus-far.
I have a client, Blue Water Marine & Carts, that asked me to run Google Ads for them. Once I attempted to launch their ad campaigns, they were denied within 30 min. due to their site having malicious software…
I ran through as many trouble shooting methods, site updates and analysis. I concluded that since the site was not one I originally built for the client, it was best to let me redesign them one. (They disclosed that they have been hacked a lot, etc.) (the site was built in wordpress, and hosted through ipage)
I got them a new site built in wix, and have been attempting to transfer the domain. I just kinda followed the instructions from both sides… and it says its still propagating. During this time, I have become confused and timid to update my clients, in case I might misinform them. Wix also has a warning under the new sites domain settings saying I have it pointing away from WIX but after checking the DNS records and servers… I dont. Is this just something I need to wait 1-2 more days on to look for changes? I started the process Tuesday.
Which method did you go with? First you must decide the method of connecting external domain - name servers or pointing. the former is recommended.

Basically, Connecting via nameservers means… Wix manages your domain’s DNS records and so you can expect support from wix for this. If you go with this method and you were using domain mailbox, the dns records (txt, cname, spf,dkim) of your email provider must be added in your WiX account.
Pointing method is slightly different, and it is a good option if you don’t want to add your email provider’s DNS records in your wix account. The mailbox records will remain with your domain provider in this method.
Conclusion: Consider pointing only if you have many DNS dependent services you’d prefer not to mess with or add to Wix. Or else, always go with name servers method. Make sure you delete old records from your domain account while adding the wix nameservers. Domain propogation takes about 48 hours. It took a day for me last i tried nameservers method.
