I already own the domain (whataburgarmenu.com), and I want to use it with a new Wix Studio website.

I’m currently trying to understand the correct way to connect my existing domain to Wix Studio.

A few things I’m not clear about:

  1. Do I need to transfer the domain to Wix, or can I keep it registered with my current domain provider?

  2. If I keep the domain with my current registrar, should I connect it using nameservers or DNS records?

  3. What DNS records do I need to change?

  4. Is there any risk of affecting my existing domain/email DNS settings when connecting it to Wix Studio?

  5. Do I need to connect the domain before publishing the Wix Studio site, or can I connect it after the site is ready?

  6. Once the domain is connected, how long does DNS propagation normally take?

  7. Is there anything I should check in Wix Studio before changing the DNS so I don’t accidentally cause a domain or SSL issue?
