As much as I love the user-friendly design features from WIX, I’m very disappointed with Ascend. The reason I left other platform builders is because of the blocky, limited design features. I just started using Ascend not too long ago and it gives me the most headache because my website would look so creative then when I get to set up automation emails for marketing, the design features on Ascend is very limited, not to mention my website brand fonts and colors aren’t transfer over so I have to re-enter my color value again. It won’t even let me upload my fonts so there is a disconnection there. Also, I found that after I add in a new font color to an element in Ascend, if I wanted to use that same color value on a new element I have to re-enter it for the new element. Most of all I think the blocky/sectional layout is what’s hurting the design the most. I see a lot of negative space and it makes my email look very boring. Also bringing in an image is very limited on where I can place it, I wish it can be more user-friendly like it is on the website layout design.
Also, another thing to point out, the "subscribe " design element added into an email template in Ascend, I noticed when I receive that email (as a viewer) and try to click on the subscribe email section that was added onto the email, it opens up a window for me to actually go put in my email and hit submit (I feel like this step isn’t necessary), WIX should make it possible for the viewer to subscribe directly from the email without having to take them to another window, the fewer steps the better. Lastly, with this subscribe featured that is available to include in an email template through Ascend, how do I know where to categorized these customers that subscribe through this feature because it doesn’t have the same capability to set up the setting like it does on the website layout design backend.
