Hi, my client’s business does on-site sales during their open hours. The restaurant app lets people prepay online and add a tip, but because the restaurant app doesn’t really work at POS, there’s no way in the mobile app for the customer to add a tip to an on-site order at point-of-sale.
This means we have to use the store for POS orders. And then you have to hand them the tablet and ask them to input a “custom amount” as a tip, which is confusing for the customer. Why is there not a standard tipping option like other POS systems have, where after the purchase they can select from a few default percentage options (15%, 20%, 25%) or enter a custom amount?
EDITED TO ADD: In Square, you can pick an amount to be selected by default. For example, 20% is automatically selected by default. If the customer doesn’t want to select 20%, then they have to change the tip amount. This is what we’d like to see for Wix too.
Same Situation. I have more than 30 restaurants using Wix Restaurant and I got complain from ALL restaurant that the customers could not put the tip or could not find where to put the tip. I complained to customer support many time but nothing update yet. PLEASE MAKE THE TIP IN WIX RESTAURANT MANDATORY AND HAVE THE OPTIONS FOR CUSTOMER TO CHOOSE E.G. 10%, 15%, 20% or NO TIP.
Thanks @annahelise . is there any way to know whether adding tipping to the store (not the restaurant) will happen soon? My client wants to cancel Wix this week and switch back to Square/Weebly, and I’d really prefer not to because we’ve built such a beautiful site on Wix. But I do understand that not having a tipping ability on store orders is a dealbreaker for them. If I could tell them it will be done within a certain timeframe I think I could convince them to stay.
