I think it would be better if a site manager can decide if their members can see the views counter or not… This is for psychological reasons. In the beginning when you launch a site you want people to particpate. A site manager has te be able to let a their members built up content and afterwards give them the opportunity to see the views counter. Reason is the very simple story chicken and egg. If somebody posts something in te beginning and they will have to less views (because of the fact that the site owner did’nt have enough time to do his markering properly), they will not be motivated to do another post. This while the posts of the community generate interesting content with wich you can start doing proper marketing and grow your community…

You can disable the view counter for posts right now. It hides it from category and post list.
