Free From Wix Photos

If I use a free stock photo on my site I should be able to put it into a folder.

It would be even cooler if I could make a folder or if I could star free stock photos “I think I might want to use” and then be able to open that folder or filter by stars to find the stock photos as I’m building.

The stock photos are great, but since we don’t get a copy of them in our site images any more there’s no way to re-add or re-use a stock image with out searching through the mountain of images.

Great request.

I’ve been saving those images to my hard drive in a folder labeled Wix use only, then upload as needed for various sites. In the Wix folders, I put them in the Favorites as well as the Site specific folders. A little cumbersome to take these extra steps, but at least it works.

How are you saving the images? I can’t do that with the “free from Wix” photos.

@three4
I take screen shot – with the Jing tool TechSmith Capture (Formerly Jing) | TechSmith – of the image as placed on the website.

Ohhhhhh got ya.

Good idea!

Use unsplash

And label them. Don’t take screenshots that’s not nice.

Yeah [@OurSTUDIO] - unsplash is great they just don’t always have what I want. And with the free from wix photos you CANT label them or save them in any way.

Buy them on wix they are only $2.99 and worth every penny! Only problem is wix has no compressor so I like to use tinypng is great and will speed up sites tremendously!

Hi guys, why not use the Favorites feature? Star any image or video to easily access it later, including media from Wix and Shutterstock media you wish to purchase later on.

Favorites for sure helps! Just that there’s a lot of sites so my favorites gets big and messy too.

Remember we are now site based? Your favorites are per site as well

Oh. Maybe I need to go back and try this again!! Thanks!!!

@three4 the best way to dl the high res images is to use Chrome’s Developer Tools (ctrl + shift + i). You can find and dl the original. I often do this so I can optimize the images myself. WiX claims to optimize them but I found background and backround strip stock images were being served at full resolution without being compressed. Some of those images in the stock library are HUGE and really should be resized/resampled if you want a fast web. Deah’s method would resize them, but possibly too small depending on the resolution of the monitor. A screenshot will only capture the pixels displayed on the monitor.

@nathan-delle I believe she’s referring to the free stock images from WiX, not the shutterstock images. They have to be purchased first.
