Have anyone succeeded in integrating 3rd party payment method?

  1. I am looking to integrate a third-party payment API which Wix doesn’t support.

  2. Is it currently possible to integrate a 3rd party payment provider using corvid in Wix store?

  3. I was thinking redirecting user a page in wix which has integration to custom payment flow. However, I couldn’t find a way to connect wix payment to an external payment method.

An alternative(but difficult) approach I thought of:
Use wix store & wix cart functionality. And from checkout onwards, use a custom flow. Using, carts “get” function, we’ll get the total value. Using this we will create a new order in a custom data collection. We’ll store payment details also against this. Then using an iframe or via redirection third-party payment provider will be connected.

This approach require rebuilding the order & payment dashboard, collection etc… even though it’s already there in wix. The default order dashboard will not be used.

You can try this post , it has an answer to a similar question to yours.

It is possible to use a 3rd party payments provider’s API but not integrate it with Wix Stores. You would have to build your own store.

Will the alternative approach I mentioned in original post work? Do you see any limitation in Wix that will prevent me from doing it?

Hey, I am looking to integrate Wix Store with a 3rd party payment too (of course is not in the supported list), so… how is your project? did you get a solution?
Like you, I only see one way, the one you mentioned, create a custom checkout button, get the cart info and send it to a custom page… but that means we have to develop an order manager, I can do it but … that is a lot of unnecessary work because the point of using Wix is the Wix Store…

english is not my first language… so I have a hope to be incorrect…
I need to put an ending to my search of finding a way to develop a custom payment gateway…
there is no plan from Wix, to allow us to build and deploy a payment gateway and make it work with Wix Store?
Are you telling us that only Wix is allowed to include a new payment gateway?

Safwan’s workaround is the best way to go to integrate an unsupported 3rd party payment provider.

You can build your own store using database collections and dynamic pages and link a 3rd party payment provider to that.

We have a great example here showing how to set up your own store with Stripe as the payment provider. Not that you have to use Stripe but this example may help you guys out.

As Dara said, that the option available.

  1. We validated that option but never took that direction. We were able to confirm it as a viable solution.

  2. We think, having to do that much work without much certainty defeats the purpose we use Wix.

  3. For our team at least, we took a decision to fall back to either an API based e-commerce backend such as SnipCart or own hosted WooCommerce/Drupal Commerce/Magento based solution as a fall back when we need a 3rd party payment system.

Wix Stores:
Wix Stores is a very good off the shelf solution for anything that fits in their offering for the price its offered. For some reason, their payment offering at least in India is very limiting. Even the services they support comes with part of the features only. I am hoping this will change soon.

About Workarounds:
I wouldn’t recommend anyone to rely on workaround as the ones I suggested above as that is against the original reason we use Wix. If we are to code half or more of what an e-commerce system has to offer and manage it. There are better platforms to use and better ways to develop.

Especially as Wix & corvid is a closed product we can’t be sure of the changes in future and how much backward compatible those changes will be.

Corvid and Wix are great products. But not for this use-case.

I ran into this same issue. The payment offering in India is in poor shape and if Wix cannot provide a way to integrate with 3rd party payment providers easily, then they should work towards providing all the payment methods in their store. I don’t think it’s gonna happen anytime soon so I’ll look else where. It’s sad to see such a great product be limited by such a minor thing

Yeah , the whole purpose of using wix doesnt make sense now. Im trying to get payments thru a local bank than selecting whats provided by wix. They charge an arm and a leg by the time it land in my local bank account. Sad that wix doesnt allow external payment methods like Shopify.
