Hidden/collapsed elements showing on page load

Dear Wix Team,

I have been having a problem with hidden/collapsed elements showing on page load across 3 different sites for weeks now. Going through the forum, this seems to be a common issue for many users.

I’ve setup a scenario to illustrate the problem at www.wattworxx.com .

On the main page (top right) there are 4 buttons - 2 in the header and 2 in the footer. The buttons labelled “To Static Test Page” send the user to the same static test page with three text boxes - one visible, one hidden and one collapsed. The buttons labelled “To Dynamic Test Page” send the user to the same dynamic test page with three text boxes - one visible, one hidden and one collapsed.

Here’s the problem:

Click the “To Static Test Page” button in the body and the page loads fine (i.e. only one text is visible).

Click the “To Dynamic Test Page” button in the header and the page loads fine (i.e. only one text is visible).

Click the “To Dynamic Test Page” button in the body and the page loads fine (i.e. only one text is visible).

Click the “To Dynamic Test Page” button in the header and the page loads showing all text boxes, including the one set to hidden and the one set to collapsed .

Observations:

  • From what I can see, the problem only occurs on dynamic pages loaded via a link in the header of the site.
  • Attempting to hide/collapse the text no page load via code does not work.
  • Type the URL and load the dynamic page directly and the problem disappears.

This is a major issue and I have upset clients - please help!

Not sure, but this may be related to the improvements they have been rolling out. Show/hide seems to have been a major issue. I suggest you report it here:

Note however, that (I think) they just switch your site back to the old rendering method so your site will not reap the benefits of the improvements for the time being.

They haven’t really been transparent on the issues either unfortunately. I had a similar issue with show/hide and reported it, they switched me back (site went back to being slower in some aspects), but I encountered another bug and they said that my site was probably corrupt, I duplicated the site which resolved the issue and the duplicated site loaded faster and didn’t have the issues with show/hide anymore.

I have the same issues on 2 sites now

Hay guys, I had this issue and after a storm around the web, I found Fk all but forums like this… Turn on dev mode and select tools and tick the hidden element’s box…

My problem was no elements showed after I selected hide when load…

Same issue.

I copied the site which settled the issue and the copied site stacked quicker and didn’t generally disapprove of show/stow away any longer.
