Connecting a domain in Wix

I need assistance with connecting a domain in Wix. I will describe the situation step by step for clarity:

  1. I created a website in my free Wix account.

  2. The client separately purchased a domain through GoDaddy.

  3. The client connected this domain to their Wix account and added a standard Wix template (a temporary site) to that domain.

  4. After that, I transferred ownership of the website I created from my Wix account to the client’s Wix account.

  5. At the moment, the client’s account contains:

    • a domain connected to a standard Wix template;

    • the website I created, now transferred to the client’s ownership.

We now need to connect the existing domain to the website that was created by me and transferred to the client’s account, replacing the standard Wix template.

Could you please advise:

  • how to properly reconnect the domain to the correct site;

  • whether the domain needs to be disconnected from the standard template first;

  • if there is any risk of losing settings or DNS configuration during this process.
