How can I make my Wix Studio site behave like the classic Wix editor (content doesn’t resize or move on smaller screens)?

Hi everyone,

I created a site in the regular Wix Editor and another one in Wix Studio. In the classic Wix Editor, when I resize the browser window, the site simply gets cropped — the content doesn’t move.

However, in Wix Studio, the layout automatically shifts and resizes.

Is there a way to make my Wix Studio site behave like the classic Wix one — so the content stays fixed and just gets cut off when the window is smaller?

Hi! In Wix Studio, the layout is responsive by default, which means it automatically adjusts for smaller screens instead of staying fixed. If you want your design to behave more like the classic Wix Editor (where it doesn’t move or resize), you can try the following:

  1. Use fixed positioning: Select the element → go to Inspector → Position → choose Fixed or Dock to edges to lock it in place.

  2. Disable responsive scaling: In the Layout panel, uncheck Scale proportionally or similar responsive settings for each section you want to keep static.

  3. Use breakpoints: Set custom breakpoints so your layout looks consistent at specific screen widths instead of constantly resizing.

  4. Test in preview: Resize your browser in preview mode to see how elements behave after these adjustments.

However, it’s generally better to let Wix Studio handle responsiveness—modern websites are expected to adjust automatically on phones and tablets.
